I'm aware that there may be some pit-falls, such as the transport system in Glasgow which is shambolic in term of the subway and congested roads. But surely if the burden of human traffic was spread appropriately throughout the British Isles we could come to a proper solution.
For example, the two semi-finals could be played at Celtic Park or Ibrox or Hampden, or the Millenium stadium, and the final could be hosted at Wembley since this has the largest capacity.
IT MAKES SENSE TO UNITE THE BID.
Your thoughts. Why are England going it alone with their World Cup bid?
I dont like them but I hope they get it, along with Scotland qualifying and invading England again haha, I mean even the most hardened scot wants them to get the bid so its only 100 miles down the road to see top games.
i think it would make sense but i think the english would be scared that scotland would regain its title as the home of football. Why are England going it alone with their World Cup bid?
You admit Ibrox is the greatest stadium in the world.
england is a megalomaniac nation.... a country madee by foreigners yet they hate themWhy are England going it alone with their World Cup bid?
Because they can.
The English would never ask us cos they are the guardians of world football,my a**e.Russia to win.

ALSO I FORGOT TO ADD...FTUTR...much love kissmyass
Well i don't actually see why not. The main argument against it is that the whole thing is to spread out. Our best facilities are typically in Glasgow and England's in London which is not ideal for teams or especially fans who would maybe need to pay to go to Glasgow to London back to Glasgow and again to London.
Although a valid point is that Australia have made a bid and that is much more vast that the UK so it is possible but lets face it, they aren't likely to win it it.
I think that overall a joint bid would overall have a slightly negative effect as although some parts of England's details are a bit off, overall it is a fantastic location for FIFA to stage their world cup. Personally i hope they get it. It would be an awesome summer!!!
It was on the table for Scotland,Wales and Northern Ireland and the FA of each home nation knocked it back.
The reason I believe was to do with the fact that GB wanted to enter a football team for the 2012 Olympic Games and the offer of a joint bid for the World Cup was on offer also.
The relevant FA's were concerned that if they entered into a team GB for football it would fall foul of FIFA and UEFA.
That is why England bid on its own for the World Cup.
