Is Neil Lennon a liar as well as a cheat ?

Don't think i've complained once about refs

says Neil Lennon

Neil Lennon has confirmed that Celtic have written to the Scottish Football Association for the second week in a row seeking clarification on a refereeing decision.

The Hoops boss was incensed that Old Firm debutant referee Willie Collum awarded Rangers a penalty at Parkhead on Sunday when defender Daniel Majstorovic clashed with Kirk Broadfoot.

Kenny Miller scored from the spot to give Gers a 3-1 win and end Celtic's 100 per cent league start.

Lennon was similarly puzzled last week at Dundee United when referee Dougie McDonald rescinded a penalty award for Celtic with the game at 1-1.

And although Lennon's side did go on to win 2-1, the former Parkhead skipper has demanded answers from the SFA.

"There has been correspondence," he said. "We are asking for clarification on the (penalty) decision.

"We want to see the referee's report and we want clarification on last week's decision as well.

"It's not sour grapes, we just want an explanation for what we feel are strange decisions going against us."

Lennon insisted he recognises the difficulties faced by officials in the modern era but claims he has a duty to look out for the interests of his club.

"I was asked a question about the penalty decision and gave an honest answer, and I think the majority of people would agree with me - that they didn't think it was a penalty either," he added.

"You're under the spotlight, especially in a high-profile game like the one we had on Sunday.

"And it's not just in Scotland, we've seen it during the World Cup.

"I said before the game I wanted the referee to have a strong game, get the big decisions right, and I hoped we wouldn't be talking about him afterwards but that's obviously not been the case.

"It's a difficult job, I understand that, and up until last weekend I don't think I mentioned the referee in any of my post-match interviews.

"But when I'm asked a question about decisions I'll give as honest an answer as I possibly can on behalf of my team and my club."

Aye very good Lennon , what about these reply's ?

SC Braga 3 - 0 Sour Grapes United

Lennon was critical of referee Serge Gumienny and his assistants for giving the penalty when a cross hit the arm of Ki Sung-Yeung.

"His arms and his hands are down by his side; it's ball to hand," said the manager.

"He [Gumienny] made some strange decisions. He booked Charlie Mulgrew after less than 10 minutes for time-wasting. That was just incredible.

"He didn't book any of the Braga players until maybe the final five minutes.

"So I'm not pleased with the referee's performance at all."

FC Utrecht 4 - 0 Greetin' faced Yahoos

Lennon continued: “It feels as bad as Ross County. We had a decent advantage and we only needed to score one goal. But it’s the overall performance; we were second best in just about every area.

“The first penalty was soft and for the second we shot ourselves in the foot. We’ve gone one down and just need to weather it and we get one goal and win the game. But we never gave ourselves a chance.

“Refereeing decisions? I’m not going to go on about the referee because that would take away from a poor display. I would just be making an excuse, but two penalties is really poor from us.”

http://www.heraldscotland.com/sport/...a…|||Well he manages Celtic so the answer is YES|||The poor fellow seems to have a severe dose of 'selective memory syndrome'.

Either that or he's a liar.

Is this the latest "Celtic Way"?|||Lennon is correct to bring up the referee issue. After all, they have now been PROVEN to be liars. We have known it for years. The difference now is that the cat is out the bag OFFICIALLY. The horse has bolted, and all you huns are squirming like worms on a hot plate.|||He's got a f***ing cheek.

Sunday's penalty was only the 2nd awarded to Rangers this season.

Lennon should take a minute to check how many his team have already been awarded.

I didn't hear him moaning at the time that any of them were the wrong decision.|||Yeah he's got a cheek to complain about refs then make out he never, I actually thought he would make a good manager but hes never graceful in defeat and looks to pin defeat on anyone but himself or players, Johan Mjallby (if thats how you spell it) at least has the integrity to admit when Celtic are playing badly.
